Burners, type HPN-Te

The burners type HPN-Te are combined oil-gas burners with manual control, with flame stabilisation by means of a gas injector pilot burner type SHI-B15E and with forced intake of combustion air or with natural draft intake of combustion air (in this case the burners are fitted with a noise suppressor).

The HPN-Te type burners are designed for burning gas and oil. In case the burners only burn gas, the oil burner is not installed; these burners are referred to as gas burners, type HN-Te. In case the burners only burn oil, the gas burner is not installed; these burners are referred to as oil burners, type HP-Te.

The burners are made with forced combustion air intake and with combustion air suction by means of the furnace draught.

The burners are represented in the enclosed drawings, where all positions of the construction groups of parts mentioned in the following text correspond to the positions of these drawings.

The HPN-Te burner consists of the following parts:

  • Air box
  • Burner cover
  • Air dampers
  • Main gas burner
  • Pilot burner SHI-B15E type
  • Oil burner
  • Primary burner block
  • Secondary burner block
  • Noise suppressor

Air box

The air box consists of the shell 1, the flange 2 for the connection of the burner to the bottom of the heater, the flange 3 for the connection of the burner cover to the air box and the flange 4 for the attachment of the air box to the air duct. All inside walls of the air box are provided with heat and sound insulation 5. The flange 2 is to the furnace bottom sealed with the sealing 6, the burner cover is to the air box sealed with the sealing 7 by means of bolts connection 8. On the flange 2 is also welded the shell 78, in the shell is placed the secondary burner block.


Burner cover

The burner cover consists of the shell 9, the flanged sheet 10 (the cover is screwed on by means of this sheet to the air box- this sheet separating of the same time the primary and secondary air space), of the flange 11 for the attachment of the burner cover to air duct (this flange corresponds to the similar flange on the air box), of the primary air central tube 12, which is supporting by means of bolts connection 13 the holder of the primary burner block 25 with centering bolts 14, the bushings-tubes 15 enabling the passage of gas tubes through the burner cover. In the main axis of burners cover, a gas distributor of main gas burner is installed, which is connected with his flange by bolt connection 16 through sealing 17 to burner cover. Two sight-holes 20 (intended for monitoring the flame of the main gas burner) are symmetrically installed beside the above mentioned gas distributor; they are provided with glasses and threaded caps fixing these glasses by means of soft gaskets (see section C-C). Eventually the welded-on piece 24 for the flame scanner connection (see section D-D) can be installed in one of these sight–holes. The passage opening 21, intended for the assembly of the pilot burner, is positioned eccentrically towards the principal axis. The branch 22 is installed near this passage opening serving either as a control opening or as a branch for the ignition of the pilot burner by means of a transportable gas ignition burner, possibly by means of a transportable electro-spark lighter. The internal side of the burner cover is provided with a heat and sound insulation 23.


Air dampers 

The air dampers consist of two identical rotating mechanisms supporting the air dampers which are installed in the primary air canal in the air box and the in secondary air canal in the burner cover. Each of these air damper supporting mechanisms consists of the shaft 28, the control lever 29 fitted on the open end of the shaft through a square, of the dial 30 and the primary air damper 31 and the secondary air damper 32. The range of the rotary motion of both air dampers is 90°- with the possibility to be blocked in sixteen positions. The tip of the control lever indicates, after having adjusted the blocked position of the damper by means of movable part 33 of lever, the respective point of the dial.

Main gas burner 

The main gas burner consists of the flanged branch 35 for the gas supply, the gas distributor 36 with built-up guide tube 83, disassemblable tubes 37 connected to the outlet branches of the gas distributor by means of the screw-coupling 43, supporting the secondary gas nozzles 38, disassemblable tubes 39 connected to the outlet branches of the gas distributor by means of the screw-coupling 40, supporting the primary gas nozzles 41. All gas nozzles ( 38 and 41) are fixed in their positions by the safety nuts 42. The main gas burner is screwed to the cover with gas distributor flange through sealing 17 by means of bolts connection 16, the tight passage of tubes 37 and 39 through the cover being ensured by the special packed flange joint 45 with sealing 46 and 47. The arrangement of the main gas burner makes it possible to draw it out from the air box through the cover of the burner after having disengaged the screw-coupling 40 and 43 and disassembled the special packed flange joints 45.

 
Pilot burner SHI-B15E type 

The pilot burner (SHI-B15E type) is a injector gas burner, consisting of the supporting tube 48, of the flange 49 behind which the pilot burner is attached through sealing 50 to the cover of the burner, of the stabilising head 51, mixer 52, nozzle 53, orifice gauge 54, fixed in its position by the bolt 55, of the inlet body 56 and the spark ignition and control electrode 57. The air-gas mixture nozzle 58 is placed into the mixer and orifice 59 fixed in its position by means of bolt 60. A cable boot 81 of a high-voltage cable is placed on special three-piece bushing 82 screwed on the support tube.

The pilot gas burner of the injector type is intended to light the flame of oil burner and the main gas burner, to stabilize and control the burning process. The gas is supplied into the pilot burner through a specific stabilizing gas distribution pipe showing a constant pressure. The pilot burner can be lit up as well by means of a transportable gas ignition burner or a transportable electro-spark lighter.
 

Oil burner 

The oil burner consists of the stationary part 65 with the inlet branches for the steam and oil, stationary part is fixed on the holder 66 placed with help of clamp ring on the guide tube of main gas burner, the position of holder is fixed by tightening the bolt 67 on the clamp ring, the vertical position of the stationary part 65 is fixed by means of bolts 68. The burner further consists of the removable part 69, which is tightened by means of bolts 71 through two seals 70 to the stationary part. The oil atomiser is screwed on the steam inlet tube 72 and oil inlet tube 73 consisting of the oil nozzle 74, steam nozzle 75, body 76, and the outlet nozzle 77

Primary burner block 79 is situated inside the holder of the primary burner block 25 on the primary air central tube. 

Secondary burner block 80 is situated inside the shell 78 on the burner flange.
 
Burners with combustion air suction by means of the furnace draught are equipped with a noise suppressor 85, which is mounted to the flanges 4 and 11 using a bolt connection 86. (is connected to flange 4 and 11 by means of bolt connection 86.)

5) Fuel pressure values are specified for natural gas. This specification is informative; when using different types of fuels and different burner performance, concrete values are specified in the technical specifications for the burner. When using a burner for lower fuel pressure values, it is necessary to count with lowered max. performance of the burner and with a limited regulation range.


 

Lighting the burner, checking the flame

The burners are lit with a stabilization burner. After lighting the stabilization burner, a lighting (and also a monitoring) electrode is used. Burners can be supplied with a safety set serving for lighting and monitoring of the stabilization burner, including the flame-checker. 

In necessary cases, a mobile lighting gas burner type ZH1 connected to the stabilization burner gas pipes with a pressure rubber hose may be used.

Supplying burners

Each supply of burners is equipped with an accompanying document including the burner drawing, list of burner parts, list of accessory parts and spare parts, technical specifications of the burner including appendices, operating instructions including appendices, protocols, declaration of conformity, material attestations and required documents on welding (the welding plan, WPS, WPAR, welder certifications) as well as technical documents of the mobile lighting device and safety device in case these are included in the delivery. Other scope of the accompanying document shall be specified in the contract.

Burner spare parts are delivered by the manufacturer on the basis of customer's requests. Spare parts supply shall be specified in the contract. Supply of the safety device or a possible supply of other accessories shall also be specified in the contract.
